We’re expanding our team and seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Authorization Specialist to support our growing network of clinicians and families.
Position Summary
The Authorization Specialist plays a key role in ensuring our clients receive timely and uninterrupted services. This position is responsible for managing insurance authorizations, verifying benefits, and maintaining compliance with payer requirements. The ideal candidate is proactive, efficient, and committed to providing excellent administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing clients.
- Obtain, track, and renew authorizations for ABA therapy and related services.
- Communicate with insurance payers to resolve issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in company systems.
- Collaborate with billing, intake, and clinical teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and service continuity.
- Stay current with insurance policy updates, payer requirements, and authorization procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to families and staff.
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience with insurance authorizations, preferably in ABA, behavioral health, or medical billing preferred.
- Strong understanding of insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHR or billing software.
