Job Title: School-Based Mental Health Professional (LCSW or LMHC)
Location: Flatbush, Brooklyn
Overview:
A well-established boys’ elementary school in Flatbush is seeking a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to support students’ emotional development in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, collaborative, and committed to fostering student well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to design effective intervention strategies
- Conduct assessments and maintain organized, confidential records
- Lead staff workshops on mental health awareness and best practices
- Connect students and families with appropriate community resources and supports
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Valid NYS LCSW or LMHC license
- Experience working with children (school setting preferred)
- Strong understanding of child development and school-based mental health needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage a diverse caseload
